Alaska Ranger Investigation:


The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) released its 83-page report on the Alaska Ranger sinking in September 2009.

A collection of evidence and documents related to the investigation is available here.

The Coast Guard issued two safety alerts  in reaction to the disaster, the first on maintaining watertight integrity and the second on the dangers of controllable pitch propeller (CPP) systems.

The Coast Guard’s report on the incident has not yet been released.
